Technical workshops at test sites of the SafeWaterAfrica water purification systems in Africa

The technical workshop at the test sites in Mozambique and South Africa were intended as events after three years of the project to disseminate the technological project results to relevant and interested parties including industry.

The Mozambican demonstrator workshop was held on 1st November 2019 on the premises of the waterworks at Ressano Garcia, Mozambique, where the demonstrator DEMO2 is operated. Focus of the workshop presentations was on technical and business development aspects in connection with the SafeWaterAfrica technology, not least to attract the attention of potential investors.

Among the in total 27 participants and potential stakeholders were representatives from the government, state, local authority, water providers, service providers, infrastructure development, policy implementation, regulatory organisations, SME and NGO.

A similar workshop took place in River Meadow Manor, Irene (near Pretoria). After the event more than 30 participants, also including potential stakeholders from various different categories, were taken to the South African demonstrator system DEMO1 operated on the premises of a ERWAT wastewater treatment plant in Waterval near Johannesburg.
